Elected to the ECCB Board of Directors
Organization is Dedicated to Protecting
the Environment by Restricting the
Use of Hazardous Substances Embedded in
Electronic Components and Equipment
Wayne, NJ, June 4, 2009
– Change Management Consulting, Inc. (CMC), a privately-owned
international management consulting and training firm, announced today
that its Founder and CEO, Stanley Cherkasky, has been appointed to the
Board of Directors of the Electronic Components Certification Board (ECCB).
Many countries now have legislation to restrict the use of hazardous
substances embedded in electronic components and equipment that
eventually pollute landfills. The consequences of exposure to lead,
mercury and other hazardous substances built into many of today’s
products are deadly. An International Electrotechnical Commission
Quality Assessment System (IECQ) Certificate provides assurance that a
company’s production processes and electronic components represent the
highest standards of quality and hazardous substance-free
characteristics.
“The election of Stanley Cherkasky to the Electronic Components
Certification Board demonstrates our commitment to bring in
exceptionally talented people,” said Harvey Berman, Vice Chairman
Liaison of the ECCB. “Stan brings a wealth of business experience to our
Board, and we are confident that he will make a significant contribution
to fulfill our vision of excellence.”
The ECCB is the US management arm of the IECQ. Its mission is to provide
national and international value-added certified recognition for
organizations involved with electronic components and related products
and processes. The IECQ has been operating since 1982.
Stanley Cherkasky has more than 35 years of diversified business and
consulting experience in both the private and public sectors in the
United States and abroad. Stan specializes in working closely with
managers to achieve breakthrough financial, organizational, and
operating improvement. As an innovative change agent, he helps clients
transform from traditional structures to nimbler “sense and respond”
agile organizations.
Founder of CMC, Stan positioned it to become a global leader in the
design and implementation of customized change management and continual
improvement processes. He is the principal architect of the Performance
Improvement Breakthrough methodology and the Six Sigma Lean Advantage,
two innovative and proven strategies that accelerate ROI and net income
improvement, build customer loyalty, and create world-class recognition.
“I have always had a deep interest in environmental issues,” states
Cherkasky. “CMC helps many diversified clients implement environmental
management systems leading to ISO 14001 and RC14001 certification. Being
elected to the ECCB Board of Directors is an honor. It allows me to
become more active, on a global level, to ensure that green
manufacturing is taken seriously. The electronic waste stream is growing
at an alarming rate. It contaminates our landfills and results in
serious health problems.”
